God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons EverythingGod Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is definitely the type of book you read in your angry atheist phase after overly religious people have made your life difficult. Hitchens has many scathing things to say and does so in an eloquent way. This is a great cure if you think religion deserves respect by definition (it doesn’t, it can be evil as this book shows). However I think this book’s subtitle, “Religion poisons everything” goes too far. Most religious people are decent people (on my continent anyway) and don’t deserve to be lumped in with the sorts of people described here.
