I finally got some reading done again. This book gives a good first overview on MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) and a great evaluation of its strengths and most of its weaknesses.

MOND is a theory of gravity that has shown remarkable predictive success in galaxy dynamics and reduces to Newtonian dynamics in the limit of high accelerations. I was somewhat surprised to find that MOND predictions for galaxies are much better than GR/LCDM.

The book does not cover the necessary relativistic extensions much beyond TeVeS which has been falsified by GW170817 so that is unfortunate.
