As I’m going skiing on the Mölltaler glacier in Austria this week I’m reminded of several stark comparison photographs that people have been taking of glaciers around the world over the last century or so. Glaciers are really the canary in the coal mine when it comes to global warming. It is estimated that with the current trend towards 2.7°C warming by 2100 about two thirds of the world’s glaciers will be gone (as will most Austrian ski resorts). A picture says more than a thousand words so I’m just going to show you some.
